Belinda Benham
Salon Owner, Extension Educator, Master Stylist
With over 15 years in the beauty industry, Belinda Benham has built her career on passion, education, and mentorship. A Sassoon-trained stylist, Belinda has also honed her craft at the 901 Academy for blonding and through international training in Italy and Canada, giving her a truly global perspective.
She specializes in all forms of color, cutting, styling, and extensions. For more than a decade, Belinda has also been a leading educator, teaching for a major hair extension company and providing high-level training to stylists nationwide, helping them elevate their skills and careers.
Belinda opened her first salon, Indie Mane Downtown, in September 2019, followed by Indie Mane North in April 2023—both built on her vision of artistry, collaboration, and continuous growth. While her career has taken her to New York Fashion Week and editorial shoots, her greatest fulfillment is mentoring her team and nurturing client confidence and trust.
Outside the salon, she cherishes time with her husband and two cats, drawing daily inspiration from fashion, art, and the ever-evolving beauty industry.

Like any true Aquarius, I’ve always marched to my own drum by constantly changing up my appearance, trying unique things with my hair from a young age. I’ve been doing hair since 2008, was also a hair educator, and am an American Board Certified Haircolorist.
I enjoy having thorough, detail-oriented consultations to really try to nail your vision for your hair. I truly love doing all lengths and colors of hair to keep my days interesting, but thrive with shags, short hair, all things bangs, and creative color placements.
When I’m not behind the chair, I’m likely reading a romantasy book cuddled up with our dog Bruce, watching a paranormal teen drama, going to a concert, or checking out things around the city with my husband and son. Understanding Stylist Levels
Apprentice Level 1-
Mane Apprentices are recent graduates of cosmetology school and are enrolled in the Indie Mane Assistant Education Program. Mane Apprentices assist the senior stylists with their clients while also taking clients of their own to practice their craft and start building their clientele.
Apprentice Level 2 -
Mane Apprentice II are assistants transitioning from the apprentice program to a Mane Stylist. They have developed the skills necessary to be successful stylists and continuing to practice their craft and build their clientele.
Level 1 Mane Stylist -
Mane Stylists are recent graduates of our apprentice program or have recently joined the Indie Mane team and are proficient in all of Indie Mane's services. They have about 1-2 years of hands on experience in the salon and provide a high quality service at a more cost effective price point.
Level 2 Mane Designer -
Mane Designers have about 2-4 years of experience as a stylist. They participate in Indie Mane's continuing education courses to stay at the forefront of trends and styles. Mane Designers provide high quality services to all their clients.
Level 3 Mane Artist -
Mane Artists are established stylists with about 3-6 years of experience as a stylist. They are sought after stylists that offer technically advanced services to our clientele.
Level 4 Mane Expert -
Mane Experts are senior stylists with about 6+ years of experience and/or are skilled in advanced services and are considered specialists in their main area of expertise. Mane Experts are extremely skilled and highly sought after for their services. They are a part of the Indie Mane Leadership team, guiding and aid the Indie Mane apprentices and stylists.
Level 5 Mane Director -
Mane Directors have 10+ years of experience and are masters of their craft. They are well established and respected in their fields. Their decades of experience makes them highly sought after and are in the highest demand for their services. They are leaders of the salon and are experienced mentors, who pay their knowledge forward to Indie Mane's next generations of new talent.
